Beauty & the Beast

Came across this article in the NST---"Handsome men yield the best sperm". A study was carried out by researchers in the University of Valencia, Spain and they concluded in their study that women are able to recognise reproductively fit males on the basis of their facial appearance alone! Attractiveness of a man corresponded to the morphology and motility of his sperms but not his sperm concentration. Read the article HERE .
In the same report there is another study done at the University of Nottingham which showed attractive women have the nicest voices!
Not fair! Attractive people seems to almost have it all. So it looks like it should be Beauty and the Beauty and certainly not Beauty and the Beast.

The Way We Were

We Malaysians are a funny hilarious lot. Firstly there is the bumi non-bumi divide, then we are malays, chinese, indians, kadazans, melanaus, dayaks, orang asli and so on and so forth. Then further subdivisions occurs; chinese hokkein, cantonese, teochew, perak malays, kelantan malays, northern indians, southern indians, tamilan, malayali, ceylonese and the list goes on. Next we divide ourselves by religion--malay muslims, indian muslims, chinese muslims, other races muslims, chinese christians, chinese catholics, chinese buddhists, indian buddhists and the list goes on. Why, oh why can we not just call ourselves MALAYSIANS and even better just HUMANS-HOMO SAPIENS!!!!!!!
What prompted this ranting. I came across this Define Malay City, MBSA urged . Here we have somebody who wants Shah Alam to be a TRUE MALAY CITY. And he is thinking along the line of those ChinaTowns in the WEST!!!! These ChinaTowns he is thinking of are definitely not true representations!!!!!! Are we also going to have TRUE CHINATOWN and TRUE INDIANTOWN and TRUE KADAZANTOWN etc etc etc in MALAYSIA. Why, oh Why can we not just have MALAYSIANTOWNS all over. To think after almost 50 years of independence we are still needing this. Often times me thinks that things and life were better THE WAY WE WERE.

Adios Amigo Ling

Hi! Looks like the MCA has finally got Ling & Lim to step down together, instead of they threatening one another to step outside. It would be more correct to say that the ONE who managed to get them to do so, is none other then the MAN whose favourite song is MY WAY. He has even managed to decide the two who eventually succeeded Ling & Lim. So it's ADIOS AMIGOS to them.
Will the remnants of MCA Team A & B continue with their feud, only time will tell and time can be a great healer. In the meanwhile it is TIME TO SAY GOODBYE to Ling & Lim.
As MCA begins a new ERA with Ong & Chan, maybe it is time for all of us to say THE PRAYER.

The Stimulus Package

Looking at the stimulus package announced by the MAN, whose favourite song is said to be MY WAY , the MTUC and the Cuepacs Presidents seem to have different views with regards to the 2% cut in the employees' EPF/KWSP contributions. The former says that it would contribute to the employee having more to spend, the latter says that any effect would be negligible.
I tend to agree with the latter, an employee earning Rm600.00 a month would have extra Rm12 to spend a month and one earning Rm2000.00 would have extra Rm40.
What can Rm12 buy these days--less than 2 KFC VALUE meALS

and Rm40 will probably not buy one a FAMILY MEAL

at Kenny Rogers. Or should one pay a visit to COlmar Tropicale Resort (which is also owned by the Kenny Rogers' man, remember Kenny's song THE GAMBLER) and try out those 250 new one-arm banditos (not the KFC variety!). One may get to hope that the RM12 and Rm40 may even multiply as a result. But these banditos are for non-muslims only, take note, the better for them to contribute to the LHDN.
Read this interesting article which I came across just in MALAYSIAKINI These banditos owners may include one Tengku and even LUTH . Can this be the explanation why and how the Kenny Rogers and COlmar man got the license for those banditos.

My Way Man

Ah ha, looks like the MAN who likes to do it MY WAY is having his last hurrah, presenting the latest stimulus package which is said to be widely welcomed by the Business Sector This we ordinary mortals have to wait and see.
There is little doubt that a booster is much needed especially for the tourism and hospitality industries.
Civil servants and those health workers involved in looking after SARS patients have reasons to be happy too and must be saying Dr M YOU'RE STILL YOU , the GREATEST that is.

PM stepping DOwn

Hi! The stepping down of the Malaysian Prime Minister gets to be more interesting with each passing day. It was sometime in June 2002 when he first cried and said that he wanted to resign from all. A few days or hours later he was convinced to stay on till October 2003 after the OIC meet. Subsequently it was announced that his Deputy, Pak Lah, will take over, come October 2003.
He has also decided who the future deputy prime minister should be after October 2003.
Recently we are told he would only be leaving at the end of October 2003 and not after the OIC meet.
Now we are told that there will be no change in policies when he leaves. Things will be the same. See UTUSAN Poor Pak Lah, almost all the important things has been decided for him, so we wonder whether there is any need for change of Prime Minister as things will go on as usual, just like YESTERDAY ONCE MORE . Pak Lah certainly has it easy.

Well, I have just thought how great this world of ours would be if we were to follow what Lennon sang about in his song, IMAGINE. Just think about it, a world with 'No need for greed and hunger, a brotherhood of man'. The lyrics of this song can be found here. I may be a dreamer, but I am sure I am not the only one. So join me now or in the near future and the world will live as ONE.
Great guy and song writer and philosopher, this Lennon, imagine what if he had live longer, the world would have been better.

Why i'm Blogging

Hi! I am doing this basically to read and act on thoughts and ideas which I may have this moment, in the future. Being pretty absentminded and maybe having early Alzheimer's, I think this will help me to reflect on thoughts which I may later overlook or forget. Who knows maybe by the next blog I may have forgotten what I have written now and may utilise this blog for other purposes. Till the next, preserve me mind!
