Anwar::Tiada UMNO bagi MU

::Looks like the floodgates have opened now that the big boss, Pak Lah, has let it be known that he has no intention of bringing a freed Anwar back to UMNO again. He has also pointed out that Anwar has not been completely cleared of homosexuality. These two issues have been prominently featured in the local as well as the foreign print media. The NST had it on its frontpage yesterday as UMNO won’t re-admit Anwar and again today as UMNO not keen to have Anwar back, two days in succession, the Star was a wee bit slow and only featured it today. When one reads the reports, it is obvious that it is not UMNO but Pak Lah who does not want Anwar back in UMNO. But never fear all that will be corrected soon.
Today, soon after Pak Lah's declaration, the leaders of the BN component parties are jumping on the bandwagon and so are the leaders in UMNO. One can expect in the next days to see letters flooding the comments and mail sections of our mainstream printed media. Letters dealing with Anwar's recent freedom have been conspicuously absent in the past one week or so, making it appear that joe-public cares little for what happened on 2nd September 2004.
Gerakan president Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik claiming himself to be a great smeller, said that "he can smell something even if it is far away" And what is it that he is smelling? Lim KY claims that he could smell "Anwar's 'boys' plotting to split the ruling party [UMNO] and Barisan Nasional."
MCA vice-president Datuk Dr Fong Chan Onn said the party respected UMNO's [or really Pak Lah's] decision not to re-admit Anwar as a member. He also said MCA upheld the spirit of partnership in the BN by respecting all decisions of other members in the coalition. Hopefully MCA's decisions get similar respect!
Utusan has the Deputy Information Minister Datuk Zainudin Maidin saying that "only non-realists and those who do not know the history of UMNO leadership will dream that former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be re-accepted by the Malays and UMNO." He also said, "Although there has been cases of sacked UMNO leaders being taken back into the party, they had merely remained on the sidelines or slipped into political oblivion." Obviously he has forgotten about his former boss while being hasty in cuddling up to his new one. The Tun was also expelled from UMNO but just see how far he got after being rehabilitated. Need we remind him that politics is of the possible.
Wanita UMNO head Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz has quickly placed herself and Wanita UMNO at Pak Lah's side. She said Wanita UMNO was firm in its stand as it was committed to the UMNO struggle for the Malays, Malaysians and the country while Anwar had long proven to strive for his own agenda. Once again we find an UMNO leader claiming to be the sole voice of all its members. There will be more joining these leaders in the next few days.
