An-War at the UMNO GA begins

::For someone who has been out of UMNO for more than 6 years, incarcerated for some 6 years and has only just been free for 3 weeks, the attack upon him, which has just begun at the UMNO GA 2004 can be said to be unprecedented. All three Umno movements – Youth, Wanita and Puteri – were unanimous in rejecting any return of “traitors” to the party reported the Star. In the past there were other prominent UMNO members who were asked to leave but were not subjected to such 'orchestrated' attacks and many did eventually return to the fold. But it looks like the 'traitor' being targetted this time will not be able to return.
Umno Youth chief Datuk Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said:

“The Youth will not allow any traitor to be given a second chance to destroy the party from within. Those who were against Umno, those who burnt Umno flags and those who took part in processions to ridicule Umno leaders, please do not harbour any hope to return to Umno, what more to be within the Umno leadership.”

Is he forgetting that just before the 11th general election, there were those 'traitors' who returned to UMNO from PKR and were prominently photograped with the incoming UMNO President. We know that UMNO has its very own definition for 'meritocracy', we certainly also wonder whether it also has its very own definition for 'traitors' which others are not allowed to determine, whatever that means.
That grand old dame of Wanita UMNO, who was retained as the Wanita chief uncontested, said the Wanita wing would not allow anybody with vested interests to be readmitted to the party and create trouble. Also without mentioning any name but not being too mysterious, she said: “It is known whom I am referring to.” Is that name now 'taboo' and foul tasting on the tip of one's tongue? Even the best tasting of things or even the flavour of the day can go bad in a couple of years, why not someone who was put away for 6 years.
Ex-Puteri Umno head Datuk Azalina Othman Said said the movement must reject traitors who had left Umno and were against the party, according to Bernama. "We must fight leaders who left the party and were against us. Don't ever allow them to return," she said.
Over the next couple of days of the UMNO GA 2004, can we expect more calls regarding how this un-named UMNO 'traitor' should be dealt with? It wasn't long ago, that this un-named 'traitor' who was then languishing in some government-paid for facility was declared frequently to be 'tidak relevan' but presently he can be said to the focus of this year's UMNO GA. When will this guy be truly and finally 'tidak relevan' or has UMNO also has its own definition for this too.
