The Tun & Pak Lah Met

The Tun & Pak Lah finally had their one-on-one meeting at Seri Perdana this afternoon for reportedly two hours.

There was no media conference after the 4-eyed meeting according a Malaysiakini report.

Dr Mahathir held a press conference at his home in The Mines Seri Kembangan. AgendaDaily later reported that during the two hour meeting, the Tun made his unhappiness known. According to the report the PM listened only and made no comments and gave no commitments on how he was going to deal with the former PM's unhappiness. Has Pak Lah gone back again to his "elegant silent" mode?

We will just have to wait till what his spinmasters have to tell the mainstream media and what they will report tomorrow.

Nicol Beats Bailey

Tania Bailey was beaten by Nicol David at the Cathay Pacific Swiss Privilege Hong Kong Open Squash Championships, 9-1 10-8 9-5 . This is Nicol's 7th title for the year. It is the first time she has won the Hong Kong Open, Syabas.

Tania had this to say to her website ::
"I was 8-1 up in the second. She didn't make any errors and I just couldn't get the serve back.
"Physically I wasn't good enough on the day. She took the ball so early and kept the pace high."

Does our world champion have an offical website, the answer is no. Has our world champion been closely followed by her nation, the answer is again no. How many of us have seen Nicol winning her 7 titles this year live, the answer is again a big no. May we ask why not? Malaysia Boleh!

There are a few unofficial websites for Nicol, here are some for those interested to check them out ::

1. Nicol David Page :: http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Court/4743/

2. Nicol David online :: http://www.azuanzahdi.com/nicol/index.html

3. The Nicol David Website :: http://www.surforever.com.my/nicol/ (this site appears to take forever to load)

Takaful::No Happy Deepavali, No Merry Christmas, No ........

TAKAFUL Shariah department chief Mohd Fauzi Mustaffar has advised its staff members not to greet clients and friends, "Happy Deepavali".

Most likely come Christmas, he will similarly send out an e-mail advisory for the staff members not to offer Merry Christmas greetings.

Come Chinese New Year, there may be no Gong Xi Fa Cai

TAKAFUL will probably continue to say that the views in the advisories are not part of its official stand. So what is it official stand on such greetings?

While waiting for an answer, can one ask another question of Encik Fauzi, are non-muslims allowed to greet muslims with "Happy Hari Raya Puasa", "Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri" and other similar greetings? Or are such greetings from non-muslims contrary to the Shariah?
