Midnight In Malaysia

It is once again midnight in Malaysia and dawn will see us entering the 50th year of our independence, for our fellow Malaysians in Sabah and Sarawak it would be their 44th year.

Will the coming years see us growing more united, coming together more as only Malaysians without having to identify each other as Malay, Chinese, Indian, Kadasan, Dusun, Melanau Malaysians and others. When our leaders talk about, Agama, Bangsa and Negara, they mean all religions, Malaysians and Malaysia. When we hear of National Programmes, they are programmes for all deserving Malaysians. Can we not withness anymore brandishing of the Keris or KungFu sword for small political gains and major national losses. Will meritocracy really mean meritocracy and not "guided meritocracy"? When our leaders talk of "consensus", they no longer mean the stronger one lording over the others. Will we no longer have to hear of the "supremacy" of one race over others and just remember we all belong to only one race -- the human race.

We will only get the Malaysia we deserve and work and vote for. We must all work together as Malaysians and see through those who have only personal agendas and are looking only after their own pockets. We must say "Tak Nak" to them and that "Enough is Enough". The time for change is here, but are we ready for change? Will we eventually see daylight soon after so many, many midnights in Malaysia, only we can decide, ourselves.

May GOD bless Malaysia always.

Polis Lodge Report Against Malaysiakini

According to a BERNAMA report, acting Kelantan CID chief had lodged a police report over an article posted on a website which claimed that the police were behind the pepper spray incident involving former PM, the Tun, when he was in Kelantan recently.

The report said the report against Malaysiakini.com was lodged in Kota Bharu at 4.25 pm on July 31, some 2 days ago.

The acting CID chief said the article posted on the website which stated former Pasir Mas Member of Parliament Datuk Paduka Ibrahim Ali was sprayed with pepper by the polis in the incident at the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Pengkalan Chepa last Friday was defamatory. i don't remember having seen such an article. The acting CID chief aslo said that the polis report was lodged to allow the polis to conduct investigations.

Meanwhile the businessman, who is a "Datuk", who was detained in connection with the pepper spray incident on Friday, has been released after his remand expired yesterday.

The BERNAMA report went on to say that the polis would continue investigating the case and follow-up action would be taken pending instructions from the AG's Chambers.

Check out this article in Malaysiakini which also carries an explanatory note from the editor regarding the confusion which prevailed at the time of the "pepper attack" and its newsflash which was corrected an hour later.
