At an undergraduate conference here this Sunday, the former PM, Tun Dr Mahathir apparently told the undergrads ::
"There may be people with poor leadership qualities but they may become leaders because leadership appears to be thrust(ed) upon them".
Do we need to wonder one of those whom he meant.
According to BERNAMA, he also said ::
"Anyone wanting to be a leader could try to acquire the right qualities but he may not succeed"
and
"How he handles his failure will demonstrate whether he really has the qualities".
Who could he be having in mind when he said these?
His 3rd gem, all in an afternoon, is this ::
"Aspiring leaders resorting to unethical ways and even violence to become a leader should be rejected outright".
Did he have the son-in-law and someone else when he thought of this?
The old man certainly still has his mind and wits about him.
