Unique Perak :: A Malaysian State with 2 Gomen

The State of Perak in Malaysia is unique, as of the 6th of Feb 2009 in the 25th Silver Jubilee year of the Reign of DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Yusuff Izzuddin Shah Ghafarullahu-Lah, as it has been conferred with two menteri besars!

The first being :: Pakatan's Mohd Nizar and the second being newly minted, legally or not, BN's Dr Zambry.

The first menteri besar has his exco members with him and even held an exco meeting at his official residence this morning. Why at his official residence? Simple, he has been locked out of his official office lah.

The second menteri besar, meanwhile, has been busy trying to win over the hearts and minds of his new "subjects". According to this Malaysian Insider report, at the first public function of the newly minted MB, "newspaper photographers had been told to focus on him shaking hands with Chinese and Indians". Pretty pathetic. At the next function, would he be recorded having spewed out a few words of tamil and cantonese.

By the 10th of Feb 2009, in the 25th Silver Jubilee year of the Reign of DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Yusuff Izzuddin Shah Ghafarullahu-Lah, Perakians will wake up to the presence of a legally or not second set of exco members.

For these gifts of 2 MBs and 2 sets of exco members, the Perakians would have to thank their highly educated, intelligent, compassionate, full of wisdom Sultan, Sultan DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Yusuff Izzuddin Shah Ghafarullahu-Lah, who in the 25th Silver Jubilee year of the Reign of DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Yusuff Izzuddin Shah Ghafarullahu-Lah, made it possible by showering these gifts on his subjects.

But wanting only one government, the government of their own choice, the Perakians have found their Sultan wanting.
